Condor has announced flights to Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) in San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur. The German leisure carrier will connect the Mexican airport to its hub at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) twice per week, deploying the Airbus A330neo on its latest long-haul route.
The inaugural flight is scheduled for November third, 2024, and from then on, services will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays as per the next schedule:
- Flight DE2124 FRA-SJD 12:00-17:15
- Flight DE2125 SJD-FRA 19:15-14:35 (+1 day)
Flights can be operated by the Airbus A330neo, of which Condor currently has 13 in its fleet, with an additional 10 on order, based on data from ch-aviation. Each of the carrier’s A330neos seats a complete of 310 passengers in a three-class configuration – 30 in business class, 64 in premium economy, and 216 in economy class.

The carrier is not going to face any direct competition on the route, although quite a few one-stop options can be found with connections offered by Star Alliance member airlines Lufthansa and United Airlines. Last yr, Condor announced one other latest long-haul route from Frankfurt to San Antonio International Airport (SAT), with services because of begin on May seventeenth.

The southern tip of Baja California Sur is a preferred vacation spot with visitors from across Mexico, the US, and Canada, but Condor’s flights to Frankfurt can be the region’s only direct service to Europe. In accordance with Rodrigo Esponda, the Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board, work began on securing the path to Frankfurt back in 2019. He added,
“Since then, we now have coordinated logistical and strategic details. Although the COVID-19 pandemic paused the efforts, they were successfully resumed, and today we announce this historic flight not only for Los Cabos but for the whole state as it’ll promote more tourist arrivals to Baja California Sur.”
The sixth-busiest airport in Mexico
The region’s popularity as a vacation hotspot makes Los Cabos International Airport the sixth-busiest airport in Mexico, rising to fourth-busiest on the subject of international passengers. In 2023, the airport saw greater than 7 million passengers, of which 62% were traveling internationally.
