Airspace Link Inc., an FAA-Approved UAS (Drone) Service Supplier and Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) provider, has been approved to offer the FAA’s B4UFLY service, says an organization press release.
B4UFLY is a joint effort between the FAA and industry leaders like Airspace Link. The initiative goals to make sure the protection of drone operations by offering tailored safety information and airspace awareness to each recreational and business drone pilots.
In 2019, the FAA announced a partnership with Aloft, then called Kittyhawk, to develop an update to the B4UFLY app. Since then, the app has been updated several times and has processed nearly all of LAANC requests. Aloft recently announced a partnership with Pilot Institute to offer an independent airspace awareness app.
“Our collaboration with the FAA solidifies our role as a trusted channel, ensuring all flyers have access to vital safety standards and airspace intelligence before takeoff,” says Daniel Bradshaw, Airspace Link Co-Founder and CTO.
The B4UFLY features might be accessed through Airspace Link’s AirHub® Portal. This permits drone pilots to visualise and cling to regulatory requirements when operating drones in controlled airspace below 400 feet. The combination provides a transparent indicator of whether it’s secure to fly or not, interactive maps with informative data, insights into controlled and uncontrolled airspace, together with direct links to numerous FAA drone resources and regulatory information.
B4UFLY has evolved from a standalone application to essential features integrated into applications like AirHub® Portal. This integration by Airspace Link continues to equip recreational flyers with the essential tools and knowledge required for responsible navigation of the national airspace system.
