Low-cost carrier Jet2 has announced plans for an extra expansion of its network out of Manchester Airport (MAN) this spring and summer, boosting capability on routes to a variety of sunny destinations through the Mediterranean, Canary Islands, and Aegean.

easyJet and Jet2 are adding routes out of Manchester Airport. For easyJet, that is partially resulting from the improved capabilities of the A320neo.

In December, Jet2 and its Jet2holidays subsidiary unveiled a brand new path to Morocco from Manchester, offering a mixture of direct flights and holiday packages. The news was largely overshadowed by budget competitor easyJet, which strengthened its coverage to 26 destinations and bolstered its Airbus A320neo operations out of the airport.
Alongside its previously confirmed Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK) sure service, Jet2 is about to spice up capability from the airport on nine routes from April, offering over 3.8 million seats through the summer travel season. In keeping with CEO Steve Heapy, the expansion comes amid continued demand from travelers out of the North West airport during 2023, allowing for the addition of over 100,000 seats this 12 months. Heapy explained,
“We’re seeing strong and sustained demand for Summer 24 across the board, with flights and holidays proving extremely popular from Manchester Airport. Because the UK’s largest tour operator, we have now reacted quickly to that demand by adding extra capability to a bunch of sunshine favourites from the airport.”
Jet2 Adds 12 More Airbus A320neo Orders Amid Profits
Jet2 has firmed up orders for 12 more Airbus A320neo aircraft, taking its total A320neo/A321neo family order book to 110 aircraft.

Each day services between town and Lanzarote Airport (LZE) will increase farther from April 21 to November 1, while Alicante–Elche Miguel Hernández Airport (ALC) will see three more weekly frequencies between May 26 and October 31. Other seasonal expansions include flights to Corfu’s Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport (CFU), Chania International Airport (CHQ), Heraklion International Airport (HER), Kos International Airport (KGS), and Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport (OLB), running from July to September.

Short-term capability might be added to Reus Airport (REU) throughout the UK’s May half-term, operating between May 2 and 16. Additional flights are scheduled to Burgas Airport (BOJ) from July 4 to 11.

Despite just being days into 2024, Jet2 is already planning for summer 2025 at Manchester, having previously confirmed the launch of flights to Pula Airport (PUY) on Croatia’s Istrian Coast for next 12 months.

Outside of Manchester, growth for Jet2 within the North is on the cards this 12 months. In March, the operator is about to open operations at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL), inaugurating services with a flight to British holiday hotspot gateway, Tenerife South Airport (TFS). A combination of 20 scheduled and seasonal routes has already been confirmed, including several exclusive connections to destinations, including Gran Canaria Airport (LPA), Menorca Airport (MAH), and Madeira Airport (FNC).
