Starlink notably offers reliable high-speed, low latency inflight web, allowing several people to surf the net and stream faster than ever before. The Latest Zealand flag carrier will test the service next 12 months, retrofitting two aircraft.
“A no brainer”
Nikhil Ravishanka, Air Latest Zealand’s Chief Digital Officer, said the brand new collaboration with Starlink underscores the airline’s commitment to exceptional passenger service and experience throughout their entire journey.
“We’re at all times taking a look at how recent and modern technology can deliver improved customer experiences and with the world’s largest satellite constellation, exploring in-motion connectivity on our aircraft with Starlink was a no brainer.”

Starlink’s web latency might be as little as 30 milliseconds and is compatible with streaming video content, work, and easy messaging across multiple devices.
Ravishanka explained.
But first: A trial period
Air Latest Zealand will begin testing the service in late 2024 on an ATR regional aircraft and a domestic jet. The airline, becoming the primary on this planet to put in the fast web on an ATR, will conduct a trial period of 4 to 6 months. Should the trial achieve success, the carrier will retrofit the rest of its fleet in 2025, ultimately offering the service on all domestic flights.
Ravishanka said the event comes after the success of its free WiFi service on international flights.
“Our free and accessible WiFi onboard international flights has proved incredibly popular amongst customers, so we will not wait to bring connectivity to domestic flights. Don’t be concerned though, should you’re the sort of traveller who loves some downtime while within the air, you are under no obligation to attach and may still use the time to change off from the world below!”
A growing list of airline partners
Air Latest Zealand is the most recent airline to partner with Starlink, because the service provider has gained some traction within the inflight connectivity market throughout the previous few years.
